FAQ: Tabletop Essentials: Plain Terrain Battle Maps & Assets
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

What can I expect in each pack?

Each pack contains:

6x unique plain terrain bases (unfold to 25x30 inches), and 6+ matching sheets of ‘static-cling’ assets, all custom made to perfectly match the theme of the pack.

For example: Terrain and assets in the ‘Inferno’ pack are all themed around hellscapes, fire plane, and general burning rocky nastiness :)

Every pack contains totally unique contents

How do the tiers work? Are the packs pre-selected?

Simply choose how many of the 8 unique packs you want, and back that tier. Example: You think 5 packs would give you the best options at your table, so you would back the ‘5 packs Tier’.

The packs you get are entirely up to you. Your choices will be made on Backerkit after the campaign has ended (2-3 weeks after).

How do I get Add-Ons (like more dice or extra assets)?

Simple. When you choose a tier, you can add add-ons. If you don’t choose them, you can hit ‘manage your pledge’, ‘change your pledge’, and add them.

You’ll have another chance to increase your pledge and purchase add-ons when we send out our backerkit surveys after the campaign ends, so don’t worry about missing out on anything.

Is there a pledge manager?

Yes. We’re using Backerkit. About 2-3 weeks after the campaign finishes you’ll get an email to fill out a Backerkit survey. This is when you’ll give us your address, and can raise your pledge tier, and add more add-ons :)

Can I use these online, digitally?

Absolutely! Every pack you purchase includes a digital version of all of the content (terrain AND assets). There is a Digital tier, which includes everything, and you can add extra digital packs as add-ons during (or after) the campaign!

How do I get my early-bird bonus free Gelatinous d20?

You don’t have to worry about anything here.

Kickstarter logs when you backed the campaign, and that info will be sent to Backerkit. Backerkit selects all physical item backers who backed during the first 72 hours, and adds the free Gelatinous Icosahedron (d20) to their order. *editing your pledge after this is totally fine, your initial pledge time is what matters :)

Do I get all unlocked stretch goals?

You will get all unlocked applicable stretch goals, for free, yes.

For example: unlocked physical items (like more plain terrain maps, more asset sheets) will be available to physical tier backers, those same items will be added as digital items to digital tier backers. *Digital tier backers will receive digital items that are unlocked, not the physical versions.

Terrain - What's it made of, and are they gridded?

The terrain bases are durable card-stock. If you’re familiar with my ATLAS battle maps you’ll know first-hand what they’re like.

Similar to Paizo and other terrain bases.

Every terrain is gridded with a 1-inch grid.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
